“My relationship with Dr. Haynes began via participating in a sisterhood retreat (“Executive Retreats”). Via Sarah’s unique guidance, I felt empowered, independent and accountable toward successfully achieving my goals. Some of her unique approaches and methodologies that helped me to grow and evolve:

  1. Feeling inspired to expand my own network, while also contributing to others expanding theirs.
  2. Gaining comfort in allowing myself to be vulnerable in the company of others; Sarah created an almost instantaneous “safe place” effect throughout this program.
  3. Opening my heart and mind through activities like intro Q&As, evening fireside discussions, reading, journaling, silent hikes and personalized notes of positivity.
  4. Laughing and bonding through group activities that included wine tasting and food pairing, outdoor meditation and Jenga.
  5. Enriching the body with lessons on nutrition, healthy food and beverage options, yoga, massage and morning walks.

Sarah prepared and led all the activities with an ease and grace that encouraged open dialogue and candor among us, posing questions that prompted introspection toward opening up new perspectives. With her unique approach, we felt safely guided, yet independent and free. Her knowledge and experience was evident throughout the entire retreat, and we left feeling refreshed and renewed, with a new sense of purpose.

My time with Dr. Haynes is lasting, and applicable in both my personal and professional relationships. Not only did I expand my view on how I perceive others, but I now can step back and acknowledge others’ points of view, including how my actions and words might be perceived. This guides me in choosing the most thoughtful course of actions in my dealings with others in a manner that is thoughtful, respectful and mindful, rather than simply impulsive, rigid and self-centered.”

“To be in Sarah’s orbit is to be welcomed, made to feel special, listened to and supported. She is on a trajectory to be the best person she can be and wants to take you with her….She is like a phoenix who rises from the ashes during adversity; and as she rises, she elevates others with her.”

“For many years and in many ways, I have had the pleasure to be in the orbit of Dr. Sarah Haynes. To be in Sarah’s orbit is to be welcomed, made to feel special, listened to, and supported. She is on a trajectory to be the best person she can be and wants to take you with her.

I first met Sarah when our boys were in third grade together. We soon realized we shared a passion for people; she as a clinical psychologist and me as a graduate student in social work. During those early years of friendship, I felt Sarah’s positive energy envelope me as I balanced being a wife and a mother to two young boys, while also working 30 hours a week and pursuing my master’s degree. Sarah was another woman who herself had balanced these things and who knew the value of my goals. She encouraged me, cheered me on, helped me make time for fun and—most importantly—valued and validated that for which I was striving.

As time wore on, our paths continued to cross, both professionally and personally. Her warmth and ability to listen—along with the rare ability to be completely present during a conversation—has fueled a beautiful friendship. I have watched her path take significant twists and turns, which included overcoming incredible challenges in her family. What always strikes me is how Sarah was able to overcome and make the best of any situation. She is like a phoenix who rises from the ashes during adversity; and as she rises, she elevates others with her. She is a true leader in her family, with her friends, and in her academic and professional worlds.

Dr. Haynes has an array of experience, having worked as a clinician, a mental health professional, a professor in academia before then jumping into the world of start-ups in Silicon Valley, where she quickly became chief of staff for her team. This experience culminated with Sarah becoming CEO of start-up Bolt Mobility, leading the way in micromobility access across the globe.

Through all of her incarnations, Sarah constantly works on being the best version of herself while also having a mind for helping others. Her values are deeply rooted in gratitude, which in turn drives her to be deeply caring about others, their opportunities and their success. She leaves a blazing trail of lives she has touched positively, working tirelessly to ensure others receive every opportunity to keep moving the trajectory of their own lives down a forward and positive path. Consider a sampling of her contributions: conducting research for women’s issues; assisting people with mental illness; creating career fairs for college students; championing students with disabilities; creating campus-wide civility campaigns; working to benefit underserved communities; ensuring people at all levels gain access to transportation; partnering with the United Nations; and in 2020 devoting her resources into making personal protective equipment (PPE) for those on the frontlines of fighting COVID-19.

Some of my favorite memories of Sarah hail from the “Executive Retreats”—an annual highlight for me for three years running—that Sarah created as a space for collective growth, goal setting and accountability partnerships. Her holistic approach of taking care of the whole person helped us all grow spiritually, emotionally and mentally. In addition, she prioritized time and space for us to take care of our bodies, with a focus on nutrition as well as healthy exercises (yoga, hiking, beach walks, meditation, and spa treatments and massage). I credit these retreats with helping me to realize two major goals in my life: becoming licensed as a clinical social worker and taking my family to Italy for a wonderful holiday.

Sarah’s ability to execute down to the smallest detail—she brings exceptional executive planning and organizing skills—made the “Executive Retreats” both successful and beyond special. It is truly in Sarah’s nature to want the best for others. With her abilities to help others achieve their goals, I liken her to a guardian angel here on earth—ready to listen, wrap you in her warmth, take you under her wing and into her orbit to help you shine.”

“Innovative, inspiring, and impactful are three words that come to mind when I think about Dr. Sarah Haynes. My relationship with Dr. Haynes began several years ago while I was serving as provost of St. Petersburg College’s downtown and midtown campuses, and she was a tenured psychology professor teaching student-success skills. Among Dr. Haynes’ extensive contributions: she is a champion for students with disabilities; she founded the Peer Academic Advisory Student Government Association; she led a college-wide civility campaign to encourage critical thinking and respectful dialogue; and she led efforts to improve morale and multidisciplinary collaborations between key stakeholders (faculty/staff/students) across campuses, departments, disciplines, political affiliations and generations. Through her immense contributions, Dr. Haynes’ entrepreneurial spirit was often on display in launching initiatives via limited resources, including smoking-cessation training while advocating for a smoke-free campus.

Dr. Haynes is dedicated to her students and highly respected by her peers, as she embodies the 10 characteristics associated with superior college teaching:

  1. Stimulating style
  2. Ability to communicate clearly
  3. Prepared and organized
  4. Command of subject matter
  5. Dynamic enthusiasm
  6. Personal interest in students
  7. Interactive skills
  8. Flexibility, creativity, openness
  9. Sound character
  10. Commitment

I have great admiration for Dr. Haynes as a teacher, psychologist and student advocate, and also have had the privilege of watching her grow as a businesswoman, entrepreneur, retreat leader and professional certified coach. Indeed, Dr. Haynes has excelled in a broad range of endeavors, including as the founding CEO of Bolt Mobility, an innovative, tech-driven mobility company seeking to revolutionize transportation via creating access to e-scooters in the United States and Europe.

Dr. Haynes also believes in giving back to her community, as evidenced by her philanthropic engagement that includes serving on the UNICEF Steering Committee, and also leading Bolt Mobility’s corporate social responsibility initiative “Bolt Forward” providing half-off discounts for the underserved and military veterans.

Dr. Haynes has accomplished a great deal of professional achievements, while at the same time thriving as a wife, mother, daughter and sister to a beloved family. It has been an honor for me to both work with and befriend Dr. Haynes, as well as to have participated in her “Executive Retreats.” I highly recommend the Dr. Haynes Collective to those interested in creating great things in their lives!”

“During my time as CBO at Uber, my staff and I have worked with Sarah on various strategic projects and fundraising events. Sarah’s execution on critical initiatives is outstanding. Her professionalism and warmth is always on display regardless of the situation. Her Ph.D., in clinical psychology, is a great asset that has enabled her to translate her clinical and analytical research skills into coaching, hiring, training, and managing founders and multidisciplinary teams.

Because of her keen judgement, she can be relied upon to prioritize tasks and execute at the highest level in the fast paced start-up world. Nothing is too small or too big for Sarah Haynes to manage; she is unflappable. She is not afraid to roll up her sleeves and raise her hand to navigate and manage last-minute high pressure tasks. I recommend her without reservation to work on coaching and fundraising, with VIPs, executives and their teams, in coaching in a highly collaborative manner.”
